Africa to Aotearoa – The Longest Journey

28th March 2017 - 15th April 2017

Great news! BEANZ has partnered with Allan Wilson Research at Otago University and we have been successful in our application for funding under the Unlocking Curious Minds project. In the 2016 BEANZ workshops, we shared the Who is a New Zealander? project with teachers. We can now expand this to offer 250 teachers a chance to get their own DNA analysed for use in a new project: Africa to Aotearoa - The Longest Journey. More info here: BEANZ Opportunity 2017

National Biomechanics Day

3rd April 2017

National Biomechanics Day is a celebration of biomechanics that will be held simultaneously in university labs across New Zealand on 3 April 2017. The movement began in the US as a way to expose secondary school students to hands on experiential learning activities centred around biomechanics research. The event has become so popular that National Biomechanics Day is being celebrated by thousands of students and teachers across international borders, including UK, Canada, Brazil, and NEW ZEALAND!
