Maurice Wilkins Centre Biology-QMB Teacher Scholarship 2026
Kia ora koutou,
The Maurice Wilkins Centre is pleased to offer three scholarships for teachers to attend the Queenstown Plenary Lecture and Queenstown Molecular Biology Meeting (QMB), held in Christchurch from 1–2 September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with leading researchers, explore cutting-edge science, and bring new insights back to your students.
Featured speaker: The 2026 Queenstown Plenary Lecture will be delivered by one of New Zealand’s leading immunologists, Prof Sir Graham Le Gros. Prof Sir Le Gros (also an Associate Investigator of the Maurice Wilkins Centre) is involved in developing novel immunotherapies. He led a groundbreaking research programme in allergic and parasitic diseases, was pivotal in establishing New Zealand’s first CAR T-cell clinical trial and was a founding director of the Vaccine Alliance Aotearoa New Zealand. In 2025, he was made a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to medical science.
About QMB 2026: This year’s QMB sessions focus on Decoding Molecular Biology: From AI to Translation.
