BEANZ Scholarship Exam - Mistake to Plants & Animals Q1
Apologies for picking this up so late.
A slight mistake has been identified in the resource material for Q1. The edited version (for both the original and Lite version) is now fixed and up on the website: https://beanz.org.nz/resources/beanz-exams
Thank you to Chandar Dewan for bringing this to our attention
.
Mistake:
The resource (in the last two paragraphs) had conflicting information regarding the Fairy prions stating that they would return to their burrows at dusk.
Resource in the updated version:
Larger Tuatara (especially males) will feed on insects and Fairy Prion chicks. Tuatara often emerge from their burrows at dusk, when the Fairy Prions are starting to leave their burrows.
Fairy prions often form large flocks at sea. If they return to their breeding sites on land, they do so after dark. During daylight hours, any birds staying on the island stay below ground, inside the burrows.
