BEANZ advises all teachers to avoid using the supporting assessment material: Coast to Coast released with the revised Achievement Standard 91604 Demonstrate understanding of how an animal maintains a stable internal environment.

The Ministry of Education has been made aware of concerns regarding the mismatch between the requirements of the Standard at all achievement levels, and the achievement criteria within the marking schedule for the Coast to Coast task.

BEANZ is working closely with the Ministry of Education to rectify the situation and provide an assessment task that is fit-for-purpose.

The BEANZ team will inform you when this is available for use.
